RarePetCare

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains what information is collected when you use rarepetcare.com, why it is collected, and what you can do about it. We keep the amount of data involved as small as the site can function on.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, our server records standard log information when a page is requested. That includes the IP address making the request, the page asked for, the time, and the browser identification string. These logs keep the site running and let us investigate faults. We also record aggregate page view counts so we can see which guides people find useful. Visit counts are stored against a one way hash rather than a raw IP address, so the record cannot be traced back to an individual visitor.

Comments

If you leave a comment on a guide, the name and message you submit are stored so they can be displayed to other readers. Do not include personal details in a comment that you would not want shown publicly. If you want a comment removed, contact us and we will delete it.

Advertising, cookies and third party vendors

This site is supported by advertising. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page. Third party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve advertisements on this site, and you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative opt out page to opt out of some of those vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising. Where required by law, visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are shown a consent notice before personalised advertising cookies are set, and that consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time through the same notice.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. The guides remain fully readable if you do, though some parts of the page may behave differently.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run mailing lists, so there is no subscriber database. We have no way to identify individual readers from the information we hold.

Children

Pet care interests plenty of readers under eighteen, and they are welcome here. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a comment, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Because we hold almost no information that identifies you, there is usually nothing to hand over, correct or erase on request. If you are covered by the GDPR or the CCPA and want to make an enquiry, or you want a comment deleted, write to us and we will respond within the period those rules require.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with an updated date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. Questions can go through our contact page, and the limits of the advice on this site are set out in the disclaimer.
